- Advocate for the TAXPAYER, not the taxing entities.
- Reform TAD.
- Ensure TAD delivers fair, timely and accurate appraisals.
Matt’s Specific Priorities
ADVOCATE FOR THE TAXPAYER
- End what feels like a “systemic” annual attack on the taxpayer.
- Focus on what is best for Tarrant County Taxpayers, rather than the taxing entities.
- Demand internet security to prevent availability of private, personal information on the web.
REFORM TAD
- Promote fairness in valuations to reduce the number of protests.
- Make information used for TAD valuations easily available to the taxpayer.
- Secure best available and cost-effective CAMA (Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal) software.
- Orchestrate flawless implementation of the new appraisal software.
DELIVER FAIR VALUATIONS
- Move appriasal process to every three years.
- Cap appraisal increases to no more than 5% for residential properties.
